SPHY400 - Speech Pathology Practice 4a
Prerequisites All 3rd year SPHY units
This is the sixth of seven professional practice units in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology that provides direct evidence of competencies required by Speech Pathology Australia for entry into the profession. In this unit students develop at least near entry level competency in speech pathology practice during an intensive professional practice placement as well as supplementary activities and tasks.
This unit provides students with the opportunity to assimilate and apply previous learning in an extended period of professional practice experience across one or more of the Speech Pathology Australia range of practice areas of speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing, and multimodal communication.
Students will continue to build their professional portfolio as a basis for ongoing reflection and demonstration of the development of the Competency-Based Occupational Standards for Speech Pathologists (CBOS) at entry or near entry level.
